It's quiet here, isn't it? Since it's so quiet I thought I'd post a photo:

OK, now you really can't just drop in some photos without giving any details!! Tell us about them, especially the one in the middle.

That's one of my 23 inch scale travel resos that I've just finished. Square neck, 9 inch spider cone, tasmanian blackwood back & sides, maple top, mahogany neck.

The others are also squarenecks, 000 size bodies, with a standard dobro cone. One has a walnut back & sides and a wenge/maple neck, the other is mahogany.

I agree, very nicely done!

How did you decide on the size and shape of the travel reso?

The first thing to decide was the scale length - I went for 23 inches because I have a Baby Taylor so I knew I could tune to standard dobro tuning with that scale.

I was looking around for a shape that wasn't the usual travel guitar and a friend suggested the shape of a Rickenbacker lap steel. I got a photo off the Internet, converted it to a "drawing" effect with photo editing software and blew it up on a photocopier till it fitted the scale length.

Beautiful as always Pete! Good idea using the Allen
tailpiece to help with the too-short overhang on the
little fella. Those Allen units are really nice, just
pricey!

I've got a new one to post too (this place is SO quiet!), just need to get around to taking pics.
